Abstract: RESUMO: o texto tem por objetivo analisar as políticas educacionais para o atendimento dos alunos com Altas Habilidades/ Superdotação (AH/SD) no Brasil e nos Estados Unidos. Define o conceito de Altas Habilidades/Superdotação e apresenta o papel da Educação Especial nesse contexto. “…Knowing that the World Health Organization assigns the percentage of 3.5% to 5% of students with HA/G and that nationally identified, at all levels of basic education, we have about 24,000 students. Therefore, it is urgent to think about strategies for screening the HA/G population in the school context and ways to professionalise their assistance (Brazil, 2022;Matos & Maciel, 2016).
