“…A study 18 compared the effectiveness of three phonological therapy models with contrastive approach. The authors verified that the Minimal Pair Model -Minimal Oppositions and Maximal Oppositions/ Empty Set favored the highest number of acquisitions in the phonetic inventory of the subjects with moderate-severe and severe phonological disorder.…”

“…Both models studied, the Multiple Oppositions and the ABAB-Withdrawal and Multiple Probes, favored acquisitions in children's phonological system, as well as the different types of generalization (across and within sound classes). Similar results were found in other studies (12)(13)(14)19,20) , which showed the effectiveness of these therapeutic models. The Multiple Oppositions Model had a higher average of acquired phonemes than the ABAB-Withdrawal and Multiple Probes Model.…”

“…Recent studies have applied therapeutic models and analyzed the different types of generalization (9)(10)(11) , while others have compared the different approaches in the treatment of phonological disorder and verified its effectiveness (12)(13)(14) . However, no study has compared models considering the amount of targets selected for therapy, which makes the present research important, for it is believed that the greater the number of sounds stimulated, the faster the acquisitions and the greater the generalization (14) .…”

“…In Brazil, studies developed with Brazilian Portuguese, were realized employing these severity measurements, helping on the evaluation process, and on the therapy for children with phonological disorder (15,17) Concerns about the contribution for future discussions, about the occurrence of altered phonological processes in speech and writing of scholars with dyslexia, this study aimed to: compare the occurrence of altered phonological processes and to employ the phonological disorder severity index, and compare a speech and writing sample of dyslexic students and good academic performance students.…”
