Macronutrient accumulation and partioning in fertigated sweet pepper plants

Abstract: Information on nutrient demand during each growth stage is essential for efficient application of nutrients. A pot experiment was carried out with a Typic Hapludox under greenhouse conditions in Botucatu, SP, Brazil, aiming was to determine nutrient uptake and partition of sweet pepper plants, cultivar Elisa in randomized block design with four replications. The fertigation was simulated through 2-L PET bottles (neck down with a tube and a flow regulator at the end, simulating a drip irrigation system). Four p… Show more

“…It is worthwhile to mention here that magnesium has also been detected in an emission spectrum of the sample recorded in a large quartz Hilger & Watts spectrograph (Hilger & Watts Ltd, London, UK), where sensitive lines at 4,034.490 Å , 4,033.073 Å and 4,030.755 Å with relative intensities of 250, 400 and 500 confirm the presence of magnesium (Harisson 1939). It could also be mentioned here that accumulation of magnesium in a sweet variety of the fruit was observed 60 days after transplantation in Brazil by cultivating sweet pepper (C. annum L.) in greenhouses, making extensive use of agriinputs and labour (Marcussi et al 2004).…”
