This study was to evaluate the nutrition and the agronomic part of bean intercropped with castor crops submitted to sources and levels of B in the Anápolis-GO, Brazil. The treatments consisted of two sources of B (borax = 11% B and boric acid = 17% B) combined with five levels of B (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 kg ha -1 in soil) in bean intercropped with castor, plus monoculture, using 1.0 kg ha -1 B. That leaf levels of B and S in beans, and of B, N, Ca, Mg and Fe in castor were influenced by the sources and levels of B in the intercropping. The bean yield intercropped with castor was not influenced by borated fertilization, neither by the interaction of factors. The highest yield of castor intercropped with beans, 2.040 kg of grains ha -1 , was obtained with the 1.9 kg ha -1 of B, regardless of the source used.

Resumo -Objetivou-se avaliar os efeitos da aplicação de calcário e boro nos atributos químicos de um Latossolo, estado nutricional e produtividade da cultura do feijoeiro. As doses de calcário empregadas foram crescentes, considerando-se a saturação por bases igual a 70%, correspondendo às doses: zero; 0,6; 1,2 (v = 70%); 1,8 e 2,4 t ha -1. O calcário utilizado apresentava poder relativo de neutralização total (PRNT), poder de neutralização (PN) e reatividade (RE) de 131; 137 e 95%, respectivamente. As doses de boro estudadas foram iguais a 0 (zero); 0,6; 1,2; 1,8; e 2,4 mg dm -3 de B, sendo a referência para definição das mesmas a de 1,2 mg dm -3 de B (ou 1,2 kg ha -1 de B). Utilizou-se como fonte o ácido bórico (H 3 BO 3 ) p.a. (17% B). Na época do florescimento foi avaliado o estado nutricional das plantas e, aos 90 dias foram avaliadas a fertilidade do solo e a produção de grãos. No solo houve melhoria dos atributos pH, SB, V e na concentração de Ca e Mg, e do B com o emprego da adubação boratada. A interação da calagem com a adubação boratada promoveu maior acúmulo de Ca, Mg e B nas plantas. Os dados apresentados demonstram que o feijoeiro foi responsivo à calagem e à adubação boratada, tendo atingido bons índices de produção com a utilização de 1,8 kg ha -1 de B com doses crescentes de calcário. Abstract -The objective was to study the application of lime and boron on the chemical in an Oxisol in the nutritional status and yield. The doses of limestone were increasing, considering the saturation of bases 70%, corresponding doses: zero, 0.6; 1.2 (saturation of bases = 70%), 1.8 and 2.4 t ha -1 , respectively. The lime used had relative power of total neutralization (PRNT) = 131% (neutralization power, PN = 137% and reactivity, RE = 95%). The boron doses studied were equal to 0 (zero), 0.6; 1.2; 1.8, and 2.4 mg dm -3 of B, with reference to the definition of the same 1.2 mg dm -3 B (or 1.2 kg ha -1 B). It was used as a source boric acid (H 3 BO 3 ) (17% B). At the time of flowering was assessed the nutritional status of plants and, at 90 days were evaluated soil fertility and yield. There was improvement in soil pH of the attributes, SB, V and the concentration of Ca and Mg, and B with the use of boron fertilization. The interaction of lime with boron fertilization increased the concentration of Ca, Mg and B in plants. The data presented demonstrate that the common bean was responsive to liming and boron fertilization, reaching good production rates with the use of 1.8 kg ha -1 of B with increasing doses of lime.

R ESU M OO feijoeiro é uma planta exigente em nutrientes, seja devido ao pequeno e pouco profundo sistema radicular, seja devido ao ciclo curto. Partindo de um trabalho com doses de calcário e boro, realizaramse correlações entre dois tipos de folha (+1 e +3) do feijoeiro, com os teores dos elementos presentes nas plantas e na produção, objetivando-se estabelecer a folha mais adequada para a diagnose foliar. O experimento foi desenvolvido em condições de casa de vegetação empregando-se sementes de feijoeiro cv. BRS Talismã. As doses de calcário empregadas considerando-se a saturação por bases igual a 70%, foram calculadas como: zero de calcário, metade da dose padrão, dose para elevar V = 70% (padrão), uma vez e meia a dose e duas vezes a dose padrão enquanto para o boro as quantidades aplicadas foram: zero; 0,6; 1,2; 1,8 e 2,4 mg de B dm . Realizaram-se, no momento do florescimento, a coleta das folhas diagnósticas +1 e +3 (folhas amadurecidas a partir do ápice); a coleta de uma planta (parte aérea) por vaso e a mensuração da produção. Através de correlações constataram-se, para os nutrientes alvo do estudo, cálcio, magnésio e boro em que a folha +3 apresentou maiores coeficientes de correlação com os teores na planta e com os dados de produção. A study with doses of lime and boron was conducted and correlations were made between two types of leaf (+1 and +3) of the bean with the contents of these elements in plants and production, aiming to establish the most appropriate leaf for diagnosis of nutritional status. The experiment was conducted in greenhouse conditions employing bean seeds cv. BRS Talismã. Lime rates considering the saturation of bases (70%), were calculated as zero, half the standard dose, dose to increase V = 70% (default), one and a half and twice the standard dose, while the boron amounts used were: zero, 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 mg B dm -3. At the time of flowering, diagnostic leaves +1 and +3 (mature leaves from the apex) were collected along with sampling of a plant (aerial part) per pot and the measurement of production. Through correlations it was verified that nutrients, calcium, magnesium and boron in the leaf +3 showed higher correlation coefficients with levels in the plant and production data.
