R E S U M ONo Planalto do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, local de clima subtropical, o cultivo da segunda safra de verão com a cultura da soja (safrinha), semeada após o cultivo de milho, vem agregando importância econômica, aumentando progressivamente sua área de cultivo e possibilitando maior produção de grãos durante o período de verão. Estudos dos caracteres dos genótipos semeados nessa condição específica, com efeito da redução da luminosidade, podem auxiliar nas futuras seleções em programas de melhoramento vegetal da cultura. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar as relações lineares entre caracteres de soja (Glycine max L.) e identificar caracteres para a seleção indireta, em segunda safra de cultivo de verão, em região subtropical. Dezoito cultivares de soja foram avaliadas em três locais do Rio Grande do Sul. As semeaduras foram realizadas em 09/01/2013, 10/01/2013 e 24/01/2013, para os experimentos conduzidos em Barra do Guarita, Vista Gaúcha e Tenente Portela, respectivamente. Foi utilizado o delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições. Foram mensurados os caracteres altura de inserção do primeiro legume, altura de planta, massa de cem grãos e produtividade de grãos. Realizou-se a análise de variância dos caracteres. Foi investigada a relação entre os caracteres por meio de análises de correlação e de trilha. No cultivo de soja em época de safrinha (segunda safra de verão), em clima subtropical, a altura de planta tem relação linear positiva com produtividade de grãos e pode ser usada para seleção indireta de cultivares mais produtivas. A B S T R A C TIn the highlands of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with subtropical climate, the cultivation of the second summer crop with soybean (off-season), sowed after maize, has been adding economic importance, increasing progressively its cultivation area, and allowing greater grain yield during the summer period. Studies of traits of genotypes sown in this particular condition, with reducing luminosity effect, can assist in future selections in soybean plant breeding programs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the linear relations among soybean traits (Glycine max L.) and identify traits for indirect selection in the second crop of summer cultivation, in subtropical region. Eighteen soybean cultivars were evaluated in three locations of Rio Grande do Sul. Sowing was performed on Jan/09/2013, Jan/10/2013, and Jan/24/2013 for the experiments carried out in Barra do Guarita, Vista Gaúcha, and Tenente Portela, respectively. The optimal sowing density is dependent on the genotype and environmental conditions. This study aims at defining the optimal sowing density that maximizes the hay and grains production for the current short-cycle and reduced height biotype of white oat cultivated on a commercial scale, thus justifying the need for using seeds density superior to the recommended. Experiments were conducted in a complete randomized block design with four replications in a 2 x 4 factorial arrangement to cultivate (URS Taura and Brisasul) and sowing density (100, 300, 600 and 900 seeds m -2 ) in the corn/oat and soybean/oat succession system. Regardless of the genotypes tested and cropping system, the current standard biotype of cultivated white oat (short cycle and reduced height) evidence in the physiological characters of production sowing density adjusted around 500 seeds m -2 . The results obtained show that the recommendation proposal of seeds superior to the technical indications of oats in the mean cultivated biotype a part from increment the grains production can bring benefits to qualify the crop management.Additional keywords: Avena sativa L.; biomass; C/N ratio; harvest index; polynomial equation. ResumoA densidade ideal de semeadura é dependente do genótipo e das condições ambientais. O objetivo do estudo busca definir a densidade ideal de semeadura que maximize a produção de palha e de grãos para o atual biotipo de ciclo curto e estatura reduzida de aveia-branca cultivada em escala comercial. Portanto, justifica-se a necessidade de emprego de uma densidade de sementes superior à recomendação. Foram conduzidos experimentos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições, num esquema fatorial 2 x 4, para cultivar (URS Taura e Brisasul) e densidade de semeadura (100; 300; 600 e 900 sementes viáveis m -2 ) no sistema de sucessão milho/aveia e soja/aveia. Independentemente dos genótipos testados e do sistema de cultivo, o atual biotipo padrão de aveia-branca cultivada (ciclo curto e estatura reduzida) evidencia, nos caracteres fisiológicos de produção, a densidade de semeadura ajustada ao redor de 500 sementes m -2 . Os resultados obtidos mostram que a proposta de recomendação de sementes superior às indicações técnicas da aveia no principal biotipo cultivado, afora incrementar a produção de grãos, pode trazer benefícios em qualificar o manejo da lavoura.Palavras-chave adicionais: Avena sativa L.; biomassa; equação polinomial; índice de colheita; relação C/N.

It proposesthe possibility of indicating higher sowing density to the productivity maximization of biomass and grains.With the densityadjusted to the grain productivity to simulate the reflexes on the biological and straw productivity and harvest index compared to recommendeddensity, considering high and reduced tillering cultivars in different succession systems.The study was carried out in 2013, 2014 and 2015 in randomized blockdesign with four replications in a 4 × 2 factorial scheme, for sowing density (100, 200, 300, 600 and 900 m -2 ) and oat cultivars (Brisasul and URS Taura), respectively, in the corn/oat and soybean/oat succession system.With the increase in sowing density, the biological and straw productivity evidence alinear behavior and the grain productivity and harvest index ofquadratic behavior, regardless of the cultivar,agricultural year and succession system. It is possible to indicate a higher sowing density to the biomass and grain productivity maximization with sowing density close to 500 seeds m -2 in the main succession systems.In high and reduced tillering cultivars, the adjusted density compared tothe recommended increasedthe biological and straw productivity, regardless of agricultural year and succession systems.
