Objectives: to evaluate the sociodemographic, clinical, histopathological, cytopathological and microbiological profile of women with cervical cancer treated at Oncology Center in Pernambuco, located in the city of Caruaru-PE. Methods: a retrospective study was carried out to evaluate the medical records of women with cervical cancer treated for radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy between January 2014 and December 2016. For the analysis of variables, the absolute and relative frequencies were calculated. Results: there was a predominance of cases in the age range between 40 and 59 years (45.37%), non-white race/color (91.75%) and incomplete primary education (44.32%). Squamous carcinoma was present in 85.19% of the cases, with a moderately differentiated histological grade being the most common (53.41%). Most women underwent radiotherapy and associated chemotherapy (72.72%) and had 3 or more pregnancies before diagnosis (73.44%). Cytopathology has more frequently identified high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) cases (45.83%) and cocci and/or bacilli (66.67%) were the most evident microorganisms. Conclusions: the results showed that the perimenopause age, low educational level, multiparity, cytopathologic result of HSIL and histopathological examination evidencing moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma were among the characteristics most related to cervical cancer in the population studied.

Resumo: Com o objetivo de avaliar a ocorrência de violência física grave entre parceiros íntimos como fator de risco para inadequação no rastreio do câncer do colo do útero, foi desenvolvido um estudo do tipo caso-controle com aplicação de formulário multidimensional com 640 usuárias da Estratégia Saúde da Família do Município de Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. As mulheres que não realizaram o exame colpocitológico nos últimos três anos foram consideradas como casos. Os resultados demonstraram que as variáveis abusos contra a mulher (ORajustada = 2,2; IC95%: 1,1-4,4) e a coocorrência do evento no casal (ORajustada = 3,8; IC95%: 1,4-9,8) como fatores de risco à inadequação no rastreio da doença. O abuso de álcool pela mulher se mostrou como modificador de efeito para a não realização do exame pelas vítimas (ORajustada = 10,2; IC95%: 1,8-56,4) e nos casos de coocorrência de violência (ORajustada = 8,5; IC95%: 1,4-50,7). Além dos fatores já reconhecidos na causalidade das violências entre parceiros íntimos, os resultados apontam para relação de risco entre as experiências abusivas vivenciadas pelas mulheres e a inadequação do rastreamento. Desse modo, ampliar o olhar sobre o absenteísmo das mulheres aos exames deve ser considerado, já que esse indicador pode desvelar demandas não percebidas facilmente pelas equipes de saúde.

ABSTRACT. Despite the high prevalence and incidence of cervical cancer, this disease can be avoided and has great healing potential when detected at early stages. Cervical cancer screening is used in monitoring programs for early diagnosis and is considered safe and effective. This study aimed to analyze the conceptions of women on cervical cancer screening. A qualitative study was carried out with 30 women assisted in primary care, in Teresina, Piauí, Brazil. The Discourse of the Collective Subject was obtained from interviews carried out from August to October 2016. The speeches expressed the notions that women have about the significance of the screening test, the importance of undergoing the test, and prevention of cervical cancer. The conceptions of the interviewed women revealed that the test prevents diseases, including cervical cancer. However, the discourses left clear the lack of knowledge on HPV, its forms of prevention and cervical cancer. The analysis revealed that women have superficial or insufficient knowledge about the significance of the screening test and cervical cancer.Keywords: women's health, papanicolaou test, uterine cervical neoplasms, family health strategy.Concepções de mulheres sobre o exame preventivo do câncer do colo do útero RESUMO. Embora o câncer do colo uterino apresente-se com alta prevalência e incidência, pode ser evitado e tem grande potencial de cura quando detectado precocemente. O exame preventivo do câncer do colo do útero é utilizado em programas de monitoramento para o diagnóstico precoce, sendo considerado seguro e eficaz. Este estudo objetivou analisar as concepções de mulheres sobre o exame preventivo do câncer do colo do útero. Realizou-se um estudo qualitativo, com 30 mulheres atendidas na atenção básica, em Teresina, Piauí, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados de agosto a outubro de 2016 por meio de entrevistas e analisados pelo Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Os discursos expressaram as concepções das mulheres sobre o significado do exame de prevenção, a importância da realização do exame de prevenção e o conhecimento e prevenção do câncer do colo do útero. As concepções das mulheres entrevistadas revelaram que o exame previne doenças, dentre elas, o câncer do colo uterino. No entanto, os discursos explicitaram o desconhecimento entre a associação do HPV, suas formas de prevenção e o câncer cervical. A análise revelou que as mulheres apresentam pouca profundidade ou conhecimento insuficiente sobre o significado do exame preventivo e o câncer do colo do útero.Palavras-chave: saúde da mulher, teste de papanicolaou neoplasias do colo do útero, estratégia saúde da família.
