The craniomandibular disorders (CMD) include a group of multifactorial dysfunctions like muscle disorders, joint, muscle joint, internal derangements of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) with the cranial bones, parafunctional habits, occlusal changes, emotional disturbances and trauma, causing characteristic signs and symptoms mainly pain and limitation. The CMD affects most of the worldwide population and, consequently, specific techniques should be developed, as manual therapy, which improves patient clinical outcomes. This literature review related manual therapy methods to treat CMD and confirms the importance and efficiency of manual therapy as treatment of CMD. Some manual techniques need more studies due to few material found in literature.
