Two new coumarins namely Clausenalansimin A (5) and B (9) together with seven known coumarins (1-4 and 6-8), were isolated from twigs of Clausena lansium. All compo… Show more

“…As the results show, wampee fruit extracts had a strong anti-proliferative activity against HepG2 cells. There has also been research reported about the antiproliferative activity of wampee extracts from seeds (Ng et al, 2003), peels (Prasad et al, 2010) and twigs (Maneerat et al, 2010). These researches focused on isolation and purification of monomers and then tested each compound on cancer cells.…”

“…The above information coupled with biogenetic considerations and literature references indicated the presence of furanocoumarin skeleton. 7,10 Analysis of the 13 C-NMR spectra, including HSQC, suggested a furanocoumarin system with an addition of C 10 moiety, which consisted of one oxymethylene, one trisubtituted olefin, one methylene and one 5-membered lactone respectively. This phenomenone was illustrated by HMBC and NOESY analysis (Fig.…”

“…The remaining three known coumarins included imperatorin (3), heraclenol (4) and indicolactone (5) were determined by 1D and 2D-NMR spectra, LC-MS and comparison with their literature data. 5,6,7 The detail information was showed in Table 1.…”

“…for 293.1046) in HR-EI-MS corresponding to the molecular formula of C 18 H 15 NO 3 . Its UV spectrum displayed the maximum absorbances of carbazole alkaloid at λ max 204, 207, 240, 250, 267, 310, 323, and 337 nm [5][6][7][8][9], while the IR spectrum showed the absorption bands of NH (3250 cm -1 ) and γ-lactone carbonyl (1735 cm -1 ) functionalities [23]. The 1 H NMR spectral data of 1 displayed signals of NH at δ H 11.01 (br s), a set of 1,2-disubstituted benzene ring at δ [11,12,19,20].…”

“…Many of carbazole alkaloids as well as coumarins were recognized as major compounds of C. harmandiana and some of them displayed interesting biological activities including antimalaria, anti-TB, cytotoxicity, and stimulate glucose uptake in L6 myotubes [1][2][3][4]. In a continuing search for bioactive metabolites from Clausena plants [5][6][7][8][9], we report herein the isolation and identification of three new carbazole alkaloids (1)(2)(3), harmandianamines A-C, along with fifteen known compounds including clausevatine D (4) [11], clausamine A (5) [12], clausamine B (6) [12], clausine S (7) [13], girinimbine (8) [14], O-demethylmurrayanine (9) [15], clauszoline I (10) [16], clausine Z (11) [17], clauszoline N (12) [18], clausine D (13) [19], clausine F (14) [19], clausemine D (15) [20], heptaphylline (16) [21], dectamine (17) [22], and γ-fagarine (18) [22] (Fig. 1) from C. harmandiana twigs.…”
