Abstract: Este artigo compara os principais resultados do censo agropecuário do IBGE de 1996 com os resultados do censo de 2006, seguindo a metodologia conhecida como "FAO-Incra" que permite caracterizar a agricultura familiar delimitando-a no universo total dos estabelecimentos.
