OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of instrumental sacred music and sacred music with vocals on the spiritual well-being of bereaved relatives. METHOD This is a randomized clinical trial carried out with family members bereaving the death of loved ones to cancer. Participants were allocated into three groups: Group 1 (control), Group 2 (experimental using sacred music with vocals) or Group 3 (experimental using instrumental sacred music). Spiritual well-being was assessed through the Spiritual Well-Being Scale. RESULTS Sixty-nine (69) family members participated. Mean scores before and after the intervention indicated high levels of spiritual well-being (106.4 and 105.5 in Group 1; 103.2 and 105.2 in Group 2; 107.4 and 108.7 in Group 3) and religious well-being (57.9 and 56.9 in Group 1; 56.3 and 56.4 in Group 2; 57.4 and 58.1 in Group 3), and moderate levels of existential well-being (48.5 and 48.6 in Group 1; 46.9 and 48.9 in Group 2; 49.9 and 50.7 in Group 3), with the exception of Group 3 which presented a high level of existential well-being after the intervention. CONCLUSION The results show that there were no statistically significant differences in the spiritual well-being scores between the experimental groups and the control group. We evidence the need for further studies that use music therapy as a Nursing intervention for bereaved families. Brazilian Registry of Clinical Trials: RBR-2wtwjz.

Objetivou-se discorrer uma reflexão sobre o cuidado às mulheres no processo de parto. Para tanto,utilizamos referenciais teóricos sustentados no cuidado fundamentado em Ayres e os pressupostosda existencialidade do ser por Buber. O cuidado na relação com o outro, nas práticas de saúde, emespecial no campo da obstetrícia, diz respeito à capacidade de criar interações entre profissional desaúde e mulher no processo de parto associando o aspecto técnico e humanístico. Compreenderas concepções teóricas sobre a relação entre profissionais e parturientes no cuidado em saúdeé necessário para a reafirmação do paradigma de humanização e do cuidado no processo departo. Esta reflexão contribui para reorientação do modelo assistencial de saúde focado empráticas humanizadas, com apoio nas evidências científicas e valorização das práticas de saúdefundamentadas no cuidado às mulheres no processo de parto.

Studies on processes of subjectivation have shown changes in the way of individuals' interaction and interpersonal relations due to the use of new computer and communication technologies. Such attitudes demand abilities and competences that parents between age of 40 and 55, contrary to their children, do not always find it easy to learn; thereby, we aim to find how those parents understand the uses and meanings of the social networks. This is a qualitative research in psychology directed by a gestalt perspective, by Sander's phenomenological method. The research was approved by the ethics committee of Federal University of Pará. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 6 parents chosen by the snow ball method. The data analysis consisted of a dialogue with references on the subjective effects of use of technologies. It is observed, among the results, that parents have used the social network to relate with their children and to work. It is concluded that, even though they have a limited knowledge of the technology, the informants use the social networks as a tool to find friends, for social interaction and prevention against urban violence and personal safety.
