Abstract: PURPOSE: To study the safety and efficiency of two anesthetic blockages in hemorroidectomy and the effect of clonidine on analgesia. METHODS: 80 patients were studied, randomly divided into four groups: l (n=19)- peridural with a 0,75% ropivacaine; 2 (n=21)-peridural with a 0,75% ropivacaine and 150 µg of clonidine; 3 (n=19)- subarachnoid with a 0,5% bupivacaine; 4 (n=21)- subarachnoid with a 0,5% bupivacaine and 50 µg of clonidine. The intensity of pain was evaluated by the visual analogical scale 8, 12 and 2… Show more

“…In a previous study 26 it was found that clonidine, at a dose of 50 mcg, was used to decrease postoperative pain associated with bupivacaine in spinal anesthesia and at a dose of 150 mcg, combined with ropivacaine in epidural anesthesia for hemorrhoidectomy.…”

“…At present, surgery is often performed in the clinical setting. Generally speaking, epidural, sacral canal, and single spinal anesthesia are often used during surgery in the operating room, and single spinal anesthesia was better ( 19 , 20 ). This study was performed to examine the effect of single spinal anesthesia on patients undergoing hemorrhoidectomy.…”

“…[ 6 ] When used as an adjuvant, it has a decreasing effect on HR. [ 7 8 ] In studies by Baptista et al .,[ 9 ] Voje and Manohin,[ 10 ] and Chand et al .,[ 11 ] they all did not observe any change in hemodynamics when low dose of clonidine was used. Despite lowering effect on HR and blood pressure, incidence of bradycardia and severe hypotension was not significant, thus ascertaining that the dosage used in this study is safe to be used in clinical practice.…”
