Fotografia aplicada na pesquisa clínico-cirúrgica

Abstract: Medical photography is an adequate scientific document when performed on a standard fashion. A proper photography is an important issue on a scientific publication. Plastic surgeons are experts in clinical photography and, frequently, an image is a more significant data than the written part of a paper. The purpose of this article is to describe the principles developed in this specialty. Basic photographic equipment used for clinical pictures is described. Standardized pictures determined by patient position … Show more

“…Although the photographic evaluation presented better accuracy than measuring with a ruler or pachymeter or tracing on transparent film paper (35), and the photographic records were made following a specific standardization (31), no significant changes were demonstrated in the HG, LG and SG groups on the different PO days with regard to the percentage of wound contraction. It is suggested that the area an 8mm wound is too small to determine macroscopic differences in healing and to compare the different groups (HG, LG and SG).…”

“…The standardization of the images followed specifications to guarantee the obtained results. The digital camera was placed on a tripod that maintained a standard distance of 20cm from the wound, with the animal positioned in a ventral decubitus position, with the front and back paws extended, with an infinite sky blue background (31).…”

“…In the medical field, Kvedar et al 10 claim that digital photographic image can replace the dermatologic physical examination in up to 83% of the cases. For that, it is necessary to have a standardization of the environment and of the camera`s position for the correct recording without image distortion and good distinctness 11,12 . One of the photographical methods for postural assessment with photographic images is computerized photogrammetry 13 .…”
