Abstract: On the basis of the methodology used in the study, it was concluded that external sutures done with nylon produce less tissue reactivity; on internal sutures, however, this material contributes to the maintenance of the tissue reaction. The external sutures done with poliglecaprone 25 showed a greater tissue reaction; on the external sutures the tissue reaction decreased while the thread was being absorbed.

“…The muscle was carefully opened and hit the virtual retroperitoneal space where the titanium (Ti) disc was implanted. The deep and superficial incision planes were sutured with 3-0 nylon line [17], with continuous simple stitches. On the right side it was proceeded in the same way, but the implant was polymer castor (Pc).…”

“…For the anastomosis of muscles we used non-absorbable material (Tervalon EP 6). The most probable reason of non-absorbable sutures eliciting intense inflammatory response may be attributed to being a foreign body reaction in muscle tissue based on the finding that non-absorbable material produces more reactivity to internal tissue than external [9]. The swelling was non-palpable on day 21 after surgery.…”
