Objective: To know the vulnerability of the elderly to the HIV infection in the context of preventive practices. Method: Exploratory qualitative study, lead from December 2012 to May 2013, with 37 nursing Coexistence Groups in João Pessoa - Paraiba. The Focus Group was elected as the research technique, and the empirical material obtained was subjected to a Content Analysis Technique, thematic modality. Results: The elderly recognize the importance of preventive practices, but they face difficulties in its use when their emotional relationships with their partners do not favor preventive behavior, resulting in vulnerability. The elderly showed the population groups most vulnerable to HIV and do not recognize themselves as such. Conclusion: The complexity of the various contexts experienced by the elderlies of this study indicate the need for more research that allows advances in the understanding of subjectivity imposed in relations that underlie the aging process and the experience of sexuality in this age group.

HIV-seropositive women: Understanding, feelings and experience before motherhood Mujeres seropositivas al VIH: Comprensión, sentimientos y vivencia frente a la maternidad RESUMO Objetivo: Compreender os sentimentos das mulheres portadoras de HIV, enfatizando o significado de estarem grávidas, a impossibilidade de amamentarem, bem como a vivência relacionada aos procedimentos utilizados para inibição da lactação. Métodos: Pesquisa descritiva, com referencial qualitativo, realizada em um hospital de nível secundário em referência obstétrica, com 12 mães soropositivas, no período de puerpério imediato, na cidade de Fortaleza-CE, Brasil, nos meses de setembro e outubro de 2009. Os dados foram coletados sob a forma de entrevista semiestruturada, gravada pós-consentimento, cujos depoimentos analisados e agrupados receberam análise temática. Resultados: Os resultados possibilitaram compreender a sobrecarga de sentimentos como tristeza, surpresa, desespero e autopreconceito relativos à descoberta do diagnóstico e à preocupação com a saúde do filho. A impossibilidade de amamentação foi causa de frustração e negação para se esconder a doença. Conclusão: As mulheres estavam em conflito afetivo e social devido à incerteza sobre a transmissão da doença para o filho e ao estigma social de serem portadoras do vírus. Descritores

Objective: to identify the perception of the nursing team concerning pregnancy in the presence of HIV. Methods: this is aqualitative study made in a reference hospital. For data collection individual interviews were conducted and recorded with15 nurses who provide care to women during their puerperal and/or pregnancy process. The data were described accordingto thematic analysis. Results: gestation in the presence of HIV is perceived as irresponsibility, misinformation, and concernwith the risks of vertical transmission. The divergent statements of the nursing team point to the lack of understanding ofpregnancy in terms of the needs and desires of people living with HIV which may favor an improper procedure and nursingassistance limited to the behavior and technical nursing care in order to reduce vertical transmission of HIV. Conclusion:it is necessary that in the education of health, in the several levels of nursing include matters concerning the gender, sexualand reproductive rights.
