“…However, other rat studies suggest that the hydroalcoholic and spray‐dried standardized extracts may exert both significant peripheral and central analgesia. Hence, there remains a need for the further study of the effect of P. niruri extracts on major pain pathways to clarify the ambiguity that surrounds its analgesic mechanism.…”

“…Research by Porto at al., 2013, showed that Phyllanthus niruri spray-dried standardized extract has anti-inflammatory effect on mus musculus Swiss male mice (18-30 g) induced by carrageenan (1% w/v, 50 μL). 10 Methanol extract of Phyllanthus niruri decreased edema in Swiss albino rats induced by carrageenan. This extract showed a reduction of 46.80%; 55.32% and 69.14% at doses of 100; 200 and 400 mg/kg respectively.…”

“…In addition, administration of the P. niruri extract to mice has successfully regulated serum levels of primary and secondary antibodies (Eze, 2014). Another study conducted by Porto et al (2013) revealed that spray-dried standardized extracts of P. niruri have potentially inhibited carrageen-induced edema and thioglycolate-induced neutrophil migration in Mus musculus Swiss male mice. Another study evaluated the effects of the plant extract on leukocyte profile of broiler chickens infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum .…”
