Abstract: RACIONAL: Os procedimentos cirúrgicos para tratamento da obesidade morbida têm sido eficientes na resolução desta afecção a curto e longo prazo. Com exceção da banda gástrica ajustável todos estes procedimentos de alguma forma são capazes de induzir a liberação de hormônios intestinais em função do desvio intestinal e desta forma exercerem um efeito metabólico.
