-(The tree-shrub vegetation in rocky outcrop cerrado areas in Goiás State, Brazil). We describe the floristic composition of the tree-shrub vegetation in 10 areas of rocky outcrop cerrado in Goiás State, Brazil. Ten 20 × 50 m plots (totaling 1 ha) were established and all of the individuals with diameters at 30 cm above soil level (DB 30 ) ≥ 5 cm were included in the sampling. Comparative analyses of the flora were realized using similarity indices (Sørensen and Czekanowski), classification analysis (TWINSPAN), and the Mantel test. A total of 13,041 tree-shrub individuals were sampled, distributed among 219 species, 129 genera and 55 families. Fabaceae was the most well-represented family, followed by Myrtaceae, Melastomataceae, Vochysiaceae, Malphigiaceae, and Rubiaceae. Fully 42.3% of the comparisons evaluated by the Sørensen index were > 0.50, while all the values were < 0.50 for the Czekanowski index, with the exception of Jaraguá and Mara Rosa areas. The TWINSPAN classification generated four divisions and, in general, only the differences in the size of the population were responsible for the groupings. The Mantel test indicated that there was no relationship between floristic similarity and the distances between the areas (r = 0.32, P = 0.05). It therefore appears that the areas of rocky outcrop cerrado in Goiás State are relatively floristically homogeneous and that they are principally distinguished by the differences in the sizes of the populations of their dominant species, and the presence of exclusive species in certain areas.

The Cerrado biome has high species richness, endemism and spatial heterogeneity. Knowing the main characteristics and peculiarities of the flora is essential to adequately protect the species richness of the Cerrado. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the species richness, alpha diversity and beta diversity of four vegetation types in the Paracatu River Basin (15°30'/19°30'S and 45°10'/47°30'W), Paracatu-MG. The four vegetation types cerrado (stricto sensu, "cerradão" or Savannah woodland, deciduous seasonal forest and riparian forest) were sampled following the Manual for Monitoring Permanent Plots of the Cerrado and Pantanal Biomes. Alpha diversity was assessed using the Simpson (Ds´) and Shannon & Wiener (H') indexes, and beta diversity using the Sørensen and Jaccard similarity indexes. The "cerradão" vegetation type had the highest number of species (106) and highest alpha diversity (3.83nats.ind -1 ). The cerrado stricto sensu had the lowest species richness (54 species) and alpha diversity value (2.65 nats. ind -1 ). Beta diversity was high (low Jaccard and Sørensen similarity) except between cerrado stricto sensu and "cerradão". The initial hypothesis of this study was rejected, because although the phytophysiognomies are located on the same land system, the beta diversity is high, except for the cerrado stricto sensu and "cerradão", which had similar diversity.

RESUMO:Neste trabalho, objetivou-se verificar a existência de variações na composição e distribuição das espécies arbóreas em virtude das características do solo, em um fragmento de cerradão distrófico, no município de Curvelo-MG. Para a descrição da comunidade arbórea, foram instaladas dez parcelas permanentes de 1.000 m² (20 x 50 m) com distâncias fixas de 100 m entre cada parcela. Todos os indivíduos arbóreos vivos com DAS (diâmetro a 0,3 m do nível do solo) > 5,0 cm foram amostrados. Os indivíduos de fuste bifurcado foram incluídos quando o valor dos DAS fundidos atendia ao critério. Foram coletadas amostras de solo em duas profundidades (0-20 e 20-40 cm) e medida as distâncias das parcelas a um curso de água. Para estudar a comunidade, foram gerados diagramas de ordenação de parcelas, espécies e variáveis ambientais por meio da análise de correspondência canônica (CCA INTRODUÇÃOO bioma Cerrado sofreu nos últimos 35 anos uma abrupta modificação em sua área original que representava 1/5 do território nacional (DURIGAN; RATTER, 2006), acarretando em uma expressiva depleção de biodiversidade perante a exploração recente dessa região para a agricultura intensiva.
