“…Similar features have been reported in other sub-superficial studies using geophysical acoustics, such as that of the lagoonal mouth at Cananeia (Paolo and Mahiques, 2008) and the bay of Guanabara in Rio de Janeiro (Catanzaro et al, 2004).…”

“…The longest distance traveled by salt water in the sea1 domain may be associated with the position of Trapande Bay on the coast. According to Paolo and Mahiques (2008), salt water enters preferentially through this bay, and it flows off more rapidly through the Cananeia Sea. Timing delays observed between high tide and low tide at Barra de Cananeia and Mar Pequeno may be partially related to the estuary shape and its morphology, lowering current speeds by energy dissipation through the bottom and lateral stresses.…”

“…Several papers can be found using remote sensor to describe bottom composition, bathymetry and marine bottom mapping ( [9], [5], [6], [12], [4], [3], [14], [16], [13]). However, this is the first time that satellite image and sonographic data is correlated in Northeast of Rio Grande do Norte.…”
