Show more

“…In this context, high moisture silage can significantly contribute to improving animal productivity; the economic importance of this item as a feed constituent is justified by its high total digestible nutrient content (TDN > 80%) and dry matter digestibility (DM) (Jobim et al, 2010a). Furthermore, grain silage can be a practical and economical way to store grain for use as concentrate in different animal production systems.…”

“…The use of dry corn can lead to serious grain storage problems in properties, usually with high qualitative and quantitative losses, significantly increasing food costs (Jobim, Branco, Gai, Calixto Junior, & Santos, 2010). Thus, rehydrated corn silage has become an interesting alternative to replace ground corn, reduce production costs and improve efficiency in the use of starch.…”

“…According to Prado-Calixto et al (2017), silage of high-moisture corn can maximize animal productivity since it contains high levels of total digestible nutrients (TDN) and in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD). Precisely for this reason, this type of feed is of great economic importance, since its TDN content is greater than 80% and it has high IVDMD (JOBIM et al, 2010).…”
