BRSIPR Bel: Cultivar de batata para chips com tubérculos de boa aparência

Abstract: 'BRSIPR Bel': A chip-processing potato cultivar with tubers of good appearance'BRSIPR Bel' is a potato cultivar for frying as chips and shoestring sticks with oval tubers, and an attractive appearance, with medium shallow eyes, white smooth skin, and cream flesh. It shows low glucose content and light color chips and shoestring sticks similar to 'Atlantic'. Maturity is medium-late and dormancy is relatively long. It presents high yielding potential, with high percentage of marketable tubers, high specific grav… Show more

“…F183-08-01 presents desirable shape, size and physicochemical qualities for french fries processing as well as Asterix (Fernandes et al 2010). The average mass of individual tubers of the F183-08-01 confirms its suitability for this purpose by presenting tuber size similar to Asterix and larger than Atlantic and BRSIPR Bel whose purpose is industrial chip processing (Pereira et al, 2015), as can be observed by AM (Table 1). Number of marketable tubers was similar for all evaluated genotypes with exception of F50-08-01.…”

“…'Asterix', 1.082 for 'Atlantic', and 1.056 for 'Agata'. These values were slightly lower than those reported by Pereira et al (2015), 1.083 and 1.092 for 'Asterix' and 'Atlantic', respectively, in assessments carried out in the subtropical region of Brazil. In the present study, in Canoinhas, F177-11-20 (1.085 in 2017;1.081 in 2018) stood out as the only clone in the upper group, followed by 'Atlantic' (Table 4).…”

“…BRSIPR Bel had the lowest number of leaves per plant among the genotypes, but it produced a leaf area index equal to Asterix and higher than Agata (Table 2). This was due to the larger size of the BRSIPR Bel leaflets, when compared to the other genotypes, as it presented a leaf area index above the average, even with a lower number of leaves (Pereira et al 2015). In addition, this cultivar produced one of the lowest numbers of stems per plant, which promoted a better plant architecture and better arrangement of leaves in the canopy.…”

“…de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa) for cultivation in Brazil, being registered as a cultivar in 2012 (Pereira et al 2015). F183-08-01 is an Embrapa's elite clone that stands out for its high tuber yield (about 56.88 t ha -1 ) (Bortoletto & Silva 2016), and this genotype is undergoing the official registration process, in order to be released as a commercial cultivar: BRS 183 (Potira) (Pereira et al 2020).…”
