Abstract: ABSTRACT. 00 the geographical distributioo of Phaenomys ferrugineus (fhomas) (Rodeotia, Muridae). The analysis of field notes of specimeos conserved in museums, spe~imens labels, infonnations from bibliography and field observations by the author permited lhe identification oftwo areas (Teresópolis and Sena da Bocaina, in lhe Serra do Mar, states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, respectivelly) where specimens of Phaenomysferrugineus (Thomas, 1894) have been collected in the past.
