Microanatomia e histologia do sistema digestivo de Phyllocaulis soleiformis (Orbigny) (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Veronicellidae): V. Glândula digestiva

Abstract: ABSfRACT. MICROANATOMY AND HISfOLOGY orTHE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM or PHYLLOCAULIS SOLEIFORM IS (ORBIGNY, 1835) (MOLLUSCA, GASTROPODA, VERONICELLIDAE). V. DIGESTIVE GLAND. The digestive gland of Phyllocaulis so leirormis is a compound tubular gland. The secretory tubules are made up of two main cell types: lhe digestive cells and caleic cells. The digestive ce\ls are the most numerous, usually coI um na r, and exhibit three different functional stages: absorptive, secretory and excretory. These cells contain twocytop… Show more

“…There were also undifferentiated cells. Such digestive ducts structure is in line with other findings (Leal-Zanchet et al, 1993). However, not all researchers agree with the classification and some list three main cell types: digestive, Calcium and excretory (Walker, 1970).…”
