Abstract: RESUMO:Este texto aborda a presença do desenho na educação e divulgação em biologia na obra dos naturalistas nos séculos XVIII e XIX. In graphic arguments varied forms and diagrams that result from the work of design transformation, geometric shapes, diagrams, maps, numerical formulas, and many other visual forms are not "mere illustrations," the syntheses of a mere "for example," in the fortunate conception of biologist Cristina Bruzzo (2004).
