INFLUÊNCIA DO TEOR DE NITROGÊNIO NO CULTIVO DE Spirulina maxima EM DOIS NÍVEIS DE TEMPERATURA: Parte II: PRODUÇÃO DE LIPÍDIOS

Show more

“…Fuentes et al (2000) cultivated the microalga Porphyridium cruentum supplemented with carbon dioxide and obtained a lipid content of 7.5%. In our study the ash content varied from 6.7% to about 7.1%, comparable with the 7.0% reported for A. maxima growing at 25 ∞C in water supplemented with 2.5 g L Ð1 of KNO 3 (Macedo and Alegre, 2001). …”

“…The most abundant component was protein, the highest (Renaud et al, 2002). In cultivations of Arthrospira maxima growing in water supplemented with KNO 3 (Macedo and Alegre, 2001) the maximum protein value was about 72.0%, lower than for any of the strains shown in Table IV.…”

“…These neutral lipids are not predominantly straight chain saturated hydrocarbons but multibranched and/or polyunsaturated components. Macedo and Alegre [93] demonstrated that the Spirulina lipids content increase approximately 3 times with the decrease of nitrogen content and temperature decrease, being the nitrogen concentration decrease more effective.…”

“…Several other authors have also reported an inverse correlation between the lipid and nutrient contents for cyanobacteria species, such as Spirulina sp., which triple their lipid content in response to low nitrogen availability (Macedo and Alegre 2001), and for microalgae, such as Monoraphidium sp. (Dhup and Dhawan 2014), Chlorella pyrenoidosa (Nigam et al 2011) and Neochloris oleoabundans (Li et al 2008).…”
