Abstract: This study was made to investigate the anatomical features of the white-eared opossum skull, by osteology and radiographic anatomy. For this, five animals were used without sexual distinction. The skull was examined by radiographic and macroscopic characteristics. The skulls were then subjected to maceration. The skull was described macroscopically according to standard views, i.e. dorsal and caudal, lateral, ventral, and midsagittal. The skull can be divided into facial (viscerocranium) and cranial (neurocran… Show more

However, the skull of the white-eared opossum in South America, the short-tailed opossum, and the marsupial Marmosa murina are described [ 6 , 7 , 8 ], respectively. Most of the researches were done in the allometry of the skull of the opossum.…”

“…This study demonstrated an important example of reproducing bone models to be used in anatomy veterinary education. Schimming et al (2016) related that knowledge of the skull morphology in mammals is very important, because it provides baseline anatomic information and can improve veterinarian medical and surgical clinics knowledge.…”
