Show more

“…8 The reduction in bacterial counts mainly could have resulted from the high sensitivity to enrofloxacin of vaginal bacteria in this study. 30 Antibiotic resistance and residue is a major challenge to control vaginitis in ewes. 15,25 For this reason, lactic acid bacteria or their cell-free supernatant was a plausible strategy to control vaginitis by preventing the high vaginal pH which is required for pathogenic bacteria to growth.…”

“…There are many studies reported the micro flora inhabited in genital system in goats (5,6,7). , recorded that micro flora is usually harmless until presence of predisposing factors such as trauma or another infection which may be pathogenic and cause disease (8)., all these studies and others do not describe the micro flora that found in uterus and oviduct , animals infected with these agents may not be detectable clinically but can usually be identified by laboratory means either in the individual or the flock.…”

“…There are many studies reported the microflora inhabited in genital system in ewes (5,6,7,8).Martinset al (9) recorded that micriflora is usually harmless until presence of predisposing factors such as trauma or another infection which may be pathogenic and cause disease. All these studies and others do not describe the microflora that found in uterus and oviduct. Therefore, the purpose of conducting this study was to isolate and identify microflora species at different levels of the female genital tract (cervix, body of uterus, horns of uterus and oviducts) of ewes and estimate their prevalence.…”
