Abstract: The absence o!!f a hypocalcemic effect of calcitonin (CT) in fishes has been suggested due to exceedingly high plasma levels of CT; the fish may be saturated with respect of circulating CT and therefore unable to respond to exogenously administered CT. Fish group I were injected at a size 4 microliter of Calcitonin (CT) per 5 g fish weight, equivalent to 1 IU per 100 g fish [11] , group II fish were injected with a normal saline of 0.6% and used as a control group.
