Nutrição e crescimento do fungo nematófago Arthrobotrys oligospora

Abstract: The growth condi tions and the nutri tional requi rement s of Arthrobotrys oligospora, a nematophagous fungus, were investigated in liquid culture. The organism was incubated in a synthetic medium, at 30 o C in a static culture. Time course of growth was adjusted to a 3 o degree equation, even after 15 days of incubation. Optimal temperature and pH for mycelium production were observed at 25 o C and pH 5.0, respectively. However, significant differences were not found among the biomass production at temperatur… Show more

“…In the present study, laboratory, greenhouse, and field tests were conducted to assess the activity of A. oligosporus C-2197 as a biocontrol for Meloidogyne spp. The in vitro tests showed that A. oligosporus C-2197 grew differently depending on the type of medium used, similar to previous reports 40,41 . Our results are also consistent with previous work on the predatory activity of A. oligosporus controlling second instar juveniles of Meloidogyne spp.…”

“…As placas foram seladas e incubados à temperatura de 25 ºC ± 1 e fotoperíodo de 12 horas. (CARDOSO et al, 2009). Após 24 horas da instalação do experimento, iniciou-se a avaliação do crescimento fúngico através da mensuração diária do diâmetro das colônias até o crescimento do fungo no tratamento controle alcançar mais de 90% das placas.…”

“…Numerous losses to agricultural production have been attributed to nematodes by interfering with the dynamics of physiological processes of plants (Mattos et al 2006). Although many fungal predators of nematodes have been isolated and identified, much about the growth of these fungi in the soil (Cardoso et al 2009) and their predatory activity is not yet known.…”
