Abstract: Recebido em 14/5/09; aceito em 1/10/09; publicado na web em 2/3/10 PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE DETERMINATION OF TRACE ELEMENTS IN VENEZUELAN BEERS BY ICP-OES. The levels of several chemical elements were determined simultaneously in ten different beers of the Venezuelan market by ICP-OES. With the exception of chromium, beer does not provide important amounts of nutritional oligoelements. The average chromium content found (33 µg/L) is higher than one reported for USA's beer (10 µg/L) but smaller than another rep… Show more

“…The content ranged between 0.2 and 46 μg L –1 ; beers consumed in Spain contained 3.94–30.1 μg L –1 . Higher contents of total Cr are described in beers from Venezuela and Nigeria, ranging between 10 and 104 μg L –1 and between 100 and 400 μg L –1 , respectively, , and in beers from Brazil with a mean of total chromium content of 66 μg L –1 …”

“…The content ranged between 0.2 and 46 μg L −1 ; 19 beers consumed in Spain contained 3.94−30.1 μg L −1 . 20 Higher contents of total Cr are described in beers from Venezuela and Nigeria, ranging between 10 and 104 μg L −1 and between 100 and 400 μg L −1 , respectively, 16,21 and in beers from Brazil with a mean of total chromium content of 66 μg L −1 . 15 The Cr(VI) content of pale lager beers ranged from below the LOQ (<1.61 μg L −1 ) to 9.9 μg L −1 , whereas in low-alcohol beers, Cr(VI) varied from below the LOQ (<1.61 μg L −1 ) to 13 μg L −1 .…”

“…O potássio foi o elemento estudado que apresentou os maiores teores em todas as amostras. Sua origem na cerveja, assim como outros íons, é proveniente do malte, o que está de acordo com outros estudos realizados, influenciando na qualidade final da bebida (LEWIS;BAMFORTH, 2006;BELLIDO-MILLA et al, 2000;ALCÁZAR et al, 2002;MARCANO et al, 2010). Para alguns elementos, como Mn, Mg e K, a cerveja pilsen apresentou os menores valores.…”

“…Leão et al (2018) used a mixture of nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide for digestion in digesting block with determination by microwave-induced plasma optical emission spectrometry (MIP-OES), with magnesium levels ranging from 46 to 97 µg g -1 (Leão et al, 2018). On the other hand, Marcano et al (2010) used direct analysis associated with ICP OES, with magnesium levels ranging from 29 to 85 µg g -1 . In general, the method developed in the present work has more attractive characteristics, either due to the simplicity of sample preparation or the instrumental and operational cost of the analysis technique.…”
