First secondary metabolites from Herissantia crispa L (Brizicky) and the toxicity activity against Artemia salina Leach

Abstract: First secondary metabolites From -β-D-glucopyranoside, 3,5,7,4'-tetrahydroxyflavone (kaempferol), 3,5,7,3',4'-pentahydroxyflavone (quercetin), unpublished in the genus Herissantia, besides β-sitosterol, kaempferol 3-O-β-D-(6''-Ep-coumaroil) (tiliroside) glucopyranoside and kaempferol 3,7-di-O-α-L-ramnopyranoside (lespedin), described for the first time in the species. The structural determination of the compounds was made by means of spectroscopy methods such as Infrared Spectroscopy, 1 H and 13 C Nuclear Mag… Show more

“…The absolute configuration of the sugar moiety in compound 16 had been previously established by both acid and alkali hydrolyses [31,37]. Trans-tiliroside (16) is known to occur in Malvaceae species [25,28,29,[38][39][40][41] Hz (H6b′′) in 17, which was also consistent with a change in the double bond geometry. On this basis compound 17 was concluded to be cis-tiliroside, which had previously been reported occurring as a mixture with trans-tiliroside (16) in 1995 [42].…”

“…Steroids are widespread in plants and play an important role as components of vegetable cell walls and membranes. They have been previously been reported in many Malvaceae species, such as Sidastrum paniculatum, Wissadula periplocifolia, Sida rhombifolia, Sida galheirensis, Bakeridesia pickelli, and Herissantia crispa (Teles et al, 2015;Chaves et al, 2013;Silva et al, 2006;Costa et al, 2007;Costa et al, 2009 (Farruque et al, 2003). Triterpenes have been reported in Malvaceae species, and hopane triterpenes have recently been reported in Wissadula periplocifolia and Sidastrum paniculatum Teles et al, 2015).…”

Ex.…”
