Show more

“…For Cu values, nine alkaline sewages sludges were higher than the average 96.8 mg kg -1 obtained by Bittencourt et al (2014). However, both elements were below the total values of 3,176 mg kg -1 for Zn and 1,019 mg kg -1 for Cu, obtained by Rangel et al (2006), who Table 4 indicate a linear increase of Zn in 17 of the 20 analyzed soils after application of alkaline sewage sludge. The increase occurred despite an increase in pH, that at a rate of 80 Mg ha -1 , promoted pH-CaCl 2 increases to values above 7 in most soils, with an average of 7.6 ( Table 2).…”

“…Intense and inadequate use of agricultural fertilizers, which may contain heavy metals in their chemical composition, increases soil pollution (RANGEL et al, 2006) with the subsequent accumulation in soils affecting plants at phytotoxic levels, contaminate water . Toxic effects by fertilizers depend on the concentration, combination and accumulative effect of the compounds in the chemical compositions (SILVA, 2006).…”
