Descrição dos estágios imaturos e notas sobre a biologia de Phloea subquadrata (Heteroptera, Phloeidae)

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Description of immature stages and notes on the biology of Phloea subquadrata (Heteroptera, Phloeidae). The eggs and five nymphal instars of Phloea subquadrata Spinola, 1837 are described and illustrated. Three new host plants are registered, and data on the development and biology of the insect are provided and discussed. KEYWORDS.Immatures, external morphology, biology, neotropics, Phloeidae. 98/05 PM -4° Versão RESUMO.Os ovos e os cinco estádios ninfais de Phloea subquadrata Spinola, 1837 são des… Show more

“…(7.26 ppm) as the internal reference. All spectra were processed using the VNMRJ or TopSpin 2.1 programs and 13 C NMR, with decoupling, distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer (DEPT) 135º, DEPT 90º, and 2D NMR ( 1 H, 13 C heteronuclear single quantum correlation (HSQC), 1 H, 13 C heteronuclear multiple-bond correlation (HMBC), 1 H-1 H correlation spectroscopy (COSY), and nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (NOESY)) were applied in the structural elucidation of the compounds.…”

“…1 This family comprises three genus: Phloea, with two species (Phloea subquadrata and Phloea corticata); Phloeophana (Phloeophana longirostris) and Serbana (Serbana borneensis), both with one species each. 2 P. subquadrata occurs exclusively in Brazil, from Southern Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul.…”

“…The family is distributed mainly in the Neotropical region and has been better studied since the mid-1960s (Lent and Jurberg 1965 ). More recently, thorough studies have been conducted on this exquisite group of bugs (Guilbert 2003 ;Bernardes et al 2005 ;Salomão et al 2012 ).…”

Nymphs and adults feed on the vascular system of the hosts (Bernardes et al 2005 Salomão et al ( 2012 ) gave an excellent account about the group and summarized several studies that have been carried on in the Serra do Japi, São Paulo, Brazil, where the three species occur sympatrically.…”

“…7 Nymphal development is prolonged and may take almost one year. 7,8 Phloea subquadrata is associated with trees of the families Myrtaceae, 5,8,9 Phyllantaceae 5 and Combretaceae. 6 Both nymphs and adults may form aggregations on tree trunks.…”
