“…nov. (Table 2), we certainly agree with Bremec & Elías (1999). These authors also described T. totae as bearing an "anterior dorsum smoothly curved ... resembling a hump", which was later considered as TDH by Garraffoni & Lana (2003) and Schüller & Hutchings (2013). Schüller & Hutchings (2013) further suggest that TDH may have developed at least twice during the evolution of Terebellides.…”

“…A fifth species, T. klemani Kinberg, 1867 is also proposed to have TDH by Schüller & Hutchings (2013) (see Table 3 and key to Terebellides in Schüller & Hutchings 2013). However, these authors did not examine the types (see Table 4 in Schüller & Hutchings 2013), while Solís-Weiss et al (1991) who did examine the syntypes, reported the absence of this body feature, observation also confirmed later by Garraffoni & Lana (2003) after examining more specimens. The presence of TDH in T. anguicomus from Brazil was illustrated by Müller (1858) and confirmed by Solís-Weiss et al (1991), who also reported a conspicuous TDH in T. carmenensis from México.…”

“…Simultaneously, Hutchings and Peart (2000), in a revision of the Trichobranchidae from Australia, redescribed T. stroemi from material collected at Porsangerfjord (Norway) near the type locality, described four new species from Australian waters and propose additional characters to facilitate species diVerentiation. Recently, GarraVoni and Lana (2003) described a new species from Brazil and provide a useful key for most of the known species of Terebellides. GarraVoni and Lana (2004) presented a cladistic analysis of trichobranchids, summarizing the current knowledge on systematics of the group and revising the interpretation of some morphological characters, and GarroVoni et al (2005) compiled a complete catalogue of world Trichobranchinae.…”
