“…In a preliminary study carried out by our group, 52 normal pregnant women between the 18th and 33rd weeks of pregnancy were eval-uated. A weak correlation was observed between interventricular septum thickness measurements using the B-mode and gestational age, which presented a quasi-linear pattern during this gestational period [8]. This finding proves that the 2-dimensional parameter is inadequate for evaluating the fetal interventricular septum during pregnancy.…”

“…Furthermore, the good reliability and interobserver concordance of the method, proven through reproducibility tests, give great support for using the curve. We did not perform intra-observer reproducibility tests, because this had already been proven in our preliminary study [8]. …”

“…According to Turan et al [12], by using a low level of transparency, the rendering mode can be applied to the fetal heart at the boundary between the cardiac chambers and ventricular walls, thereby allowing improved visualization of cardiac structures. Previous studies using 3DUS have evaluated the atrioventricular valve annulus [13,14,15] and the thickness of the interventricular septum in normal fetal hearts [16,17]. …”
