Show more

“…Similar results, with a positive response to the application of nitrogen fertilizers, have been observed: Apuleia leiocarpa (Nicoloso et al, 2001), Eremanthus erythropappus (Venturin et al, 2005), Dalbergia nigra (Marques et al, 2006b), Samanea inopinata (Cruz et al, 2006), Piptadenia gonoacantha (Marques et al, 2009), Swietenia macrophylla (Tucci et al, 2009), Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia (Gonçalves et al, 2010), Astronium fraxinifolium (Feitosa et al, 2011), Calophyllum brasiliense (Ciriello et al, 2014), Tabebuia serratifolia (Goulart et al, 2016), Schizolobium amazonicum (Carvalho et al, 2016).…”

“…Increasing N doses of 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 g N ton -1 of substrate increased Brazilian Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla King) seedlings growth in terms of stem and root dry matter and plant height, up to the optimal dose of 61.5 g N Mg -1 . The maximum dose used in this study (120 g N Mg -1 ) caused negative effect, impairing seedling quality (Tucci et al, 2009). Rosa (2014), in a study on African mahogany (Khaya ivorensis) seedlings in pots (90 days), reported that nitrogen fertilization only improved plant leaf area, while the other variables (height, stem and diameter) did not show significant differences between treatments (0,00, 0,12, 0,24, 0,36, 0,48, 0,60 grams of N per plant).…”
