TaBH se i… Show more

“…Several studies have been carried out in order to gain a better understanding of resistance traits, including molecular approaches using nuclear DNA regions (Pires et al 1997, Spatz et al 1999, Barbosa 2001, Rosa et al 2005, Barbosa et al 2006), but little is known about the genes related with the resistance phenotype in this population (Santos et al 1979, de Freitas et al 1985, Rosa 2002.…”

“…This strain is absolutely resistant to S. mansoni, and has been the subject of various studies 1,5,6,13,17,18,19,20,25,27 . Among these studies, the model for the biological control of schistosomiasis transmission is highlighted.…”

“…Previous studies dealing with cross breedings between B. tenagophila from Taim/RS and susceptible specimens of B. tenagophila from BH/MG and Joinville/SC showed that F 1 descendants, as a result of such cross-breedings, presented low suscetibility levels to S. mansoni (Santos et al 1979, Freitas et al 1985. Recently, several cross-breedings were carried out using a resistant strain (B. tenagophila Taim) and a susceptible albino one (B. tenagophila Joinville).…”
