Background: This is a quali-quantitative research and was conducted in a basic health unit aiming to investigate female adolescents' knowledge, practices and attitudes concerning sexuality. Methods:The action-research methodology was used to develop workshop activities because it is a participative methodology. The workshop was performed in two modules with the participation of 29 female adolescents, and data were collected by questionnaires addressing two groups of adolescents who had or had not begun sexual activity. Results:The representations about sexuality were related to sexual relationships and showed erroneous information concerning sexually transmitted infections, which makes the adolescents vulnerable. Many of them reported not to know anything about infections or contraceptive methods, to know about contraceptive pills and condoms and to have doubts about condom use, and when experiencing sexuality, gender manifestation was present in the adolescents' descriptions. Conclusion:Strict gender roles and a patriarchal and a chauvinistic social structure determine adolescents' behaviors that make them believe in two opposing worlds, the masculine and the feminine worlds. With this regard, identities are constructed in multiple institutions that produce and reproduce differences. Among such institutions, schools, families and the media are noteworthy, since, despite social and individual resistance movements, they impose behavioral models according to prevailing social practices and to the objectives of the consumer

Realities and perspectives of adolescent mothers in their first pregnancy

Objective: to understand the trajectory of adolescents regarding the fi rst pregnancy, contemplating realities and perspectives. Method: qualitative study, based on the Schütz theoretical framework, with 30 adolescents assisted in an outpatient clinic for adolescents in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. From the narrative interviews carried out in the fi rst semester of 2013, in the return for the fi rst consultation of the puerperium, the communicative processes were identifi ed, the central ideas and units of meanings expressed in the themes were abstracted: I was dating and became pregnant; realities and perspectives. Results: adolescents justifi ed pregnancy through sexual drive and insuffi cient prevention; they narrated the fear faced, diffi culties in motherhood and continuity of studies. The realities coexisted with the prospects of family members and partners helping to educate the child to achieve a different future from what they themselves experienced. Final considerations: adolescents experienced motherhood with ambivalent confl icts because they were young mothers, but they wanted to raise and educate their children, even those with minimal living conditions. RESUMO Objetivo: compreender a trajetória de adolescentes acerca da primeira gravidez, contemplando realidades e perspectivas. Método: estudo qualitativo, fundamentado no referencial teórico de Schütz, com 30 adolescentes assistidas em ambulatório para adolescentes em Fortaleza, Ceará, Brasil. Das entrevistas narrativas realizadas no primeiro semestre de 2013, no retorno da primeira consulta do puerpério, identifi caram-se os processos comunicativos, abstraíram-se as ideias centrais e unidades de sentidos expressas nas temáticas: fui fi cando e aconteceu a gravidez; realidades e perspectivas. Resultados: as adolescentes justifi caram a gravidez pelo impulso sexual e prevenção insufi ciente; narraram o medo enfrentado, difi culdades na maternidade e continuidade dos estudos. As realidades coexistiram com perspectivas de os familiares e companheiros ajudarem na educação do fi lho para obter um futuro diferente do que vivenciaram. Considerações fi nais: as adolescentes vivenciaram a maternidade com confl itos ambivalentes por serem mães jovens, mas desejavam criar e educar os fi lhos, mesmo aquelas com as mínimas condições de sobrevivência. As Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis são as principais causas de consulta médica e de implicações nos sistemas reprodutores. Este artigo objetiva relatar experiência de educação sexual com adolescentes escolares. Trata-se de um produto da extensão do Grupo Pastoral da Aids de centro universitário no interior cearense. A atividade foi realizada em três encontros, em agosto de 2016, com 24 adolescentes com idade de 16 e 19 anos, em uma escola pública no estado do Ceará. No primeiro encontro, buscou-se estabelecer o compromisso e participação dos escolares. No segundo encontro, solicitou-se a construção de painéis sobre sexualidade, obtendo as principais ideias atreladas ao corpo. Posteriormente, instigou-se os adolescentes a exporem conhecimentos sobre as infecções, entretanto, verificou-se incipiência nas informações relatadas pelos participantes. No terceiro momento, o foco foi a discussão acerca do Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana (HIV) e Aids. A educação em saúde propiciou informações aos adolescentes com esclarecimento de dúvidas. Estar no ambiente escolar, oportunizou o protagonismo juvenil e viabilizou reflexões sobre as vulnerabilidades em saúde e adoção de práticas seguras.
