Abstract:Um novo tipo de algodoeiro foi isolado de uma população híbrida originada por cruzamento entre as espécies alotetraplóides Gossypium hirsutum L. v. latifolium Hutch, e G. barbadense L. v. brasiliense Hutch. A metodologia empregada e as principais características econômicas e morfológicas do novo algodoeiro são descritas e discutidas.
