Show more

“…It understands each other that the age group among the groups is very close, which maybe, it can be a factor to explain such result. These results corroborate studies Fonseca et al (2003) in analyzing "normal" individuals between 7 and 11 years, hwo also found no significant difference in the absolute power of alpha and beta. The alpha activity is common in individuals who are at rest, which also converges with the aforementioned study, because in both studies the spectral activity was also captured with the subjects awake and with eyes closed.…”

“…One hypothesis to explain these alterations is that they are a result of maturational disturbances in the electrical activity, 2,3 since in normative EEG studies with normal children, progressive decreases in the absolute and relative powers in the delta and alpha bands were found, with increase in age. 16,17…”

“…The objective of the present study was to investigate healthy females and the electroneurophysiological effects of an upper limb diagonal of the PNF, based on a RP analysis of the alpha band in the Fz, F7, and F8 leads. RP is understood to be a power ratio in a fixed frequency band analyzed ( Fonseca et al, 2004 ), and its parameters in both the alpha band and in the others, have been used and documented and used in the clinical practice of EEG ( Fonseca et al, 2003 ). In addition, the PFC represents an anterior region of the cerebral cortex, occupying about 1/4 of its total surface and comprising a non-motor area of the frontal lobe ( Machado and Haertel, 2013 ).…”
