Rnam Expression and Dna Methylation of Dkk2 Gene in Colorectal Câncer

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Colorectal cancer is the third most common neoplasm in the world. Methylation of tumor related genes in CpG islands can cause gene silencing and been involved in the development of cancer. The potential role of DKK2 as a biomarker for early diagnosis of colorectal cancer remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to evaluate the profile of methylation and RNAm expression of DKK2 as potential predictors of colorectal cancer diagnosis and prognosis. METHODS: Expression of mRNAs encodin… Show more

“…The gene CpG island promoter is often hypermethylated, leading to tumor suppressor gene silencing. DKK2 promoter methylation and related RNA status were suggested as biomarkers of CRC diagnosis [ 8 ]. SDC2 and TFPI2 methylation, which was affected by tumor location, patient age, mutation load, and microsatellite instability (MSI), may be considered methylation markers for CRC detection [ 9 ].…”

“…De acordo com Mamelli et al, (2020) Gonçalves e colaboradores (2022) avaliaram 47 crianças com idade de 3 a 8 anos e observaram parâmetros de sexo, idade, massa corporal ao nascer, prematuridade, tipo de parto, complicações ao nascer, entretanto, a relevância deu-se ao achado de que 76,6% das complicações encontradas apresentaram icterícia neonatal.…”

“…Transcriptome RNA expressions are used for identification of targetable disease regulatory networks for disease diagnosis [20]. RNA based studies are known with hepatocellular carcinoma [21], colorectal cancer [22], pathway detection [23], prostate tumor [24], and breast cancer [16] etc. RNA expression profile/signature are also used for early diagnosis [25,26].…”
