Abstract:E m 1958, pela primeira vez, uma quantidade suficiente de hormônio de crescimento (growth hormone [GH]) obtido de hipófises de cadáveres foi purificado e um paciente de 17 anos, que apresentava deficiência de GH (DGH), foi tratado com o GH hipofisário (1).
