Abstract: A partir de inquéritos nutricionais probabilisticos realizados nas três últi-mas décadas foram estabelecidas tendências passadas e recentes da prevalência da obesidade (IMC ³ 30 kg/m 2 ) na população adulta da menos desenvolvida (Nordeste) e da mais desenvolvida (Sudeste) região brasileira.
