Abstract:Resumo Este texto investiga a intenção política do capítulo final da primeira edição de Raízes do Brasil, de Sérgio Buarque de Holanda (1936). Nesse intuito, examinando algumas referências explícita ou implicitamente ali presentes e seu contexto na argumentação do livro, fizemos uma reconstituição aproximativa do que constituiriam a especificidade local (brasileira ou “americana”, isto é, continental) e o conteúdo do conceito de revolução mobilizado no texto.
