This study provides a taxonomic treatment for the species of Loranthaceae in the state of Ceará, Northeastern Brazil. The survey was made based on the previous consultation of virtual herbaria, in loco visits, material loans, and photographs of diagnostic traits sent by herbarium curators. Morphological traits and geographic coordinates of all specimens collected in the State were recorded to prepare the distribution maps, identification key, and taxonomic descriptions for each taxon. A total of 184 specimens (discounting duplicates) from 30 herbaria were studied. Eight species are recorded for Ceará: Passovia pedunculata, Passovia pyrifolia, Psittacanthus cordatus, Psittacanthus dichroos, Psittacanthus eucalyptifolius, Struthanthus marginatus, Struthanthus polyrrhizus, and Struthanthus syringifolius. None are included in the IUCN Red List. However, four of them were collected inside protected areas (i.e., Passovia pedunculata, Psittacanthus cordatus, S. polyrrhizus, and S. syringifolius).

Specimens of phanerogamic plants from the Catimbau National Park, located in northeastern Brazil, were collected during extensive fieldwork and analyzed together with information gathered from the specialized literature. A total of 613 species was recorded, belonging to 366 genera and 85 families. The largest families were Fabaceae, Poaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Asteraceae, Convolvulaceae, Malvaceae, Myrtaceae, Apocynaceae, Malpighiaceae, and Cyperaceae, comprising almost 60% of the species. The level of endemism found was below that projected in the literature, as only four known species are unique to the study area. The area is, however, home to a varied flora with high richness and numerous rare or threatened species, demonstrating the importance of the National Park for conserving the regional flora. Additionally, 34 new registrations are reported here for Pernambuco State.

Plantas parasitas costumam ser consideradas como pragas, pois crescem sobre outras espécies afetando a qualidade das mesmas. Entretanto, as parasitas são de extrema importância em ecossistemas naturais, servindo como fonte de alimento para as aves e outros animais. Pouco se sabe sobre esse grupo de plantas no estado de Sergipe, assim, o presente estudo buscou responder as seguintes perguntas: (i) Quantas são e quem são as espécies parasitas que ocorrem no PARNA Serra de Itabaiana? (ii) Qual o grau de infestação dessas espécies? (iii) Como as espécies estão estruturadas no local de estudo? O trabalho foi desenvolvido no PARNA Serra de Itabaiana, onde as espécies foram quantificadas e coletadas, herborizadas e depositadas no herbário ASE da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, São Cristóvão, SE. Ao todo foram amostradas 12 espécies, pertencentes a quatro gêneros e três famílias. Phoradendron chrysocladon apresentou o maior Valor de Importância no local, seguido de Cassytha filiformis e Phoradendron quadrangulare. O grau de infestação das espécies parasitas no PARNA Serra de Itabaiana variou de baixo a médio e o estudo contribuiu com dois novos registros de ocorrência para o Estado de Sergipe: Psittacanthus excrenulatus e Phoradendron perrottetii.
