“…These taxa present entomophily pollination (Gosling et al, 2009;Gressler et al, 2006;Silva, 2016;Zappi et al, 2018). Among these four taxa, three are hermaphrodites (Deguelia, M. sylvatica and X. aromatica), and M. guianensis is monoicous (Barbosa et al, 2018;Lobão, 2016;Mattos et al, 2018;Trindade et al, 2018). This observation is consistent with the pollen representation hierarchy of dioecious > monoicous > hermaphrodite (Bush and Rivera, 2001).…”

“…Considered a native and abundant species, Mimosa acutistipula var. ferrea Barneby is endemic to north and northeastern Brazil and abundant in the Serra dos Carajás region, occurring on all CRC outcrops studied (Mattos et al 2018). It features in the Brazilian red list of plants as Data Deficient (DD) (Martinelli & Moraes 2013) and vulnerable (VU) in the List of Threatened Species of Pará State (COEMA-PA 2010).…”

“…The 120 monographs published by the FCC project encompass 40 species that were marked not fully identified, of which around 50% were flagged by the authors as possible new to science (Cruz et al 2015;Koch & Ilkiu-Borges 2016;Chautems et al 2018;Mattos et al 2018;Koch et al 2018;. Of these, a number has been found only on the canga of Carajás, being thus potentially endemic.…”
