From Monomodal to Multimodal Metaphors in the Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola

Abstract: Following our comprehensive study of conceptual metaphor occurrences in the Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola and the research on multimodal metaphor (Forceville, 2008(Forceville, , 2009(Forceville, , 2012, the present paper aims to analyse multimodal metaphors, depicting Cristiano Ronaldo on the covers of this very same newspaper.
