“…The DDT can be considered one of the most widely used tests in research on factors associated with central auditory processing, since it has been applied in at least 50% of the national studies analyzed, as demonstrated by a recent systematic review (29) . Probably this is due to its quick implementation, easiness, scope of age, and evaluation of cortical auditory skills which act as facilitators in the learning process.…”

“…Neurophysiological plasticity, in the same way, can be evaluated through this potential (13) . Auditory processing is sensitive to the negative influence of several factors, such as environmental conditions, socioeconomic conditions, language disorders (phonology, writing, stuttering), peripheral auditory (otitis media), chemical (metal mercury) and neurological disorders (dyslexia, ADHD ) (43) . It was observed that most of the studies included in this review (20,24,26,33) sought to evaluate the responses of the MMN potential in children with dyslexia.…”

“…The influence of the socioeconomic level on language development is one of the variables that has gained attention in the studies of the last years and it demonstrates better language performance in children of families with higher income, suggesting that the family income influences the quality of the stimuli provided and, consequently, the child's development (6) .…”

“…High MLD may occur as a result of increasing age, but only up to about five or six years (6) . For the MLD test, there are studies that provide values of normality for the adult population only, that is, after maturation of the auditory system in which the hearing abilities do not suffer variations anymore (7,8) , factor which may not be adequate for the child population.…”
