Effect of Dietary Supplementation of Full-Fat Canola Seeds on Productive Performance, Blood Metabolites and Antioxidant Status of Laying Japanese Quails

Abstract: The present study was carried out to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation of different levels of full-fat canola seeds (FFCS) on productive performance, blood metabolites and antioxidant status of laying Japanese quails. A total of 360, 8-week-old quails were divided into a completely randomize design with 4 dietary experimental groups and three pens each, each pen containing 30hens. The experimental groups were fed iso-caloric and iso-nitrogenous diets supplemented with FFCS at levels 0, 50, 100 an… Show more

“…Serum concentrations of aspartate and alanine aminotransferases (AST and ALT), alkaline phosphates (ALP), glucose, total proteins (TP), albumin (ALB), creatinine (CR), uric acid (UA), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-cholesterol), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-cholesterol), total cholesterol (TC), and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL-cholesterol) were determined spectrophotometrically (Spectronic 1,201, Milton Roy, Ivyland, PA, USA) following the manufacturer’s instructions of the commercial kits (Bio-Diagnostic Co., Egypt). Triiodothyronine hormone (T 3 ) was assayed using radioimmunoassay (RIA) kits (Ibrahim et al 2020 ).…”

“…Examinations were performed for eggs laid between 12:00 and 18:00 from each replicate and randomly collected at the end of the 140th days of age. Egg quality measurements were specified at the fourth week of each laying period, according to Ibrahim et al (2020) . Three eggs from each replicate were randomly taken (27 eggs/group).…”

“…The limited amounts and continuous rising prices of high-quality feed ingredients are real challenges facing poultry producers. This enormous challenge remains the most significant determinant of profit margins in poultry production ( Ibrahim et al, 2020 ). Soybean meal and corn are the most expensive ingredients in traditional poultry rations.…”
