“…A recent study showed that in Nigerian indigenous turkey, MSTN gene exon 1 had a moderate to a high degree of polymorphism (Fijabi et al, 2020). Additionally, Tanjung et al (2019) Other studies demonstrated that MSTN polymorphisms have positive effect on the growth trait in broiler, geese and fish (Aboukila et al, 2021;Smołucha et al, 2019;Zhang et al, 2019). Although the results did not show a significant difference between between the high and low markting weights of turkey.…”

“…Our results indicated that the exotic turkey which is a commercial broiler turkey is more polymorphic in the exonic region compared to their local counterpart although no variation or loss of function mutation in MSTN gene has been reported to influence growth performance in turkey. Several authors have reported different polymorphisms in the gene with some of them associated with growth performance in broiler chickens (Bhattacharya and Chatterjee, 2013;Dushyanth et al, 2016;Zhang et al, 2019). Hu et al (2013) has also reported the occurrence of Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the upstream regulatory region that alter the expression of myostatin gene in chicken.…”

“…The associations of the SNPs and haplotypes of CD1B gene with IgY and ND antibody titer were performed by General Linier Model (GLM) procedure using SAS 9.2 software (SAS Institute, Cary, NC, USA) and least means square values (x ̅ ) for genotypes and haplotypes were compared by Duncan`s Multiple Range test (Zhang et al, 2019). Significant associations were declared when p<0.05.…”
