Abstract: The effect of egg powder inclusion in the pre-starter diet (1-7 days of age) on the performance, and intestinal morphology and microbiology of male broiler chickens was evaluated in a completely randomized design. Starter diets with equal metabolizable energy and crude protein levels were formulated to contain 0, 20, 40, or 60 g egg powder/kg diet. Results showed that body weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, and European efficiency index were positively affected (p≤0.05) by egg powder inclusion in the … Show more

“…Approximately 14-17% of infertile eggs are expected from poultry hatchery, given the standard hatchability of most breeder strains is between 83-86% (Cobb Vantress, 2020; Aviagen, 2021). These eggs are rich in protein, fat, and other bioactive nutrients, such as lysozyme, avidin, and phosvitin (El-Deek et al, 2011; Esmailzadeh et al, 2016).…”

“…Processing infertile eggs from hatchery into IEP is economically relevant to reducing feed costs in broiler chickens. The high nutrient density of IEP could potentially support the growth of the digestive tract and other organs (Esmailzadeh et al, 2016), ultimately supporting growth in all parts of the body, including the muscles, skeleton, and immune system (Lei and Kim, 2013;Esmailzadeh et al, 2016).…”

“…Several experiments were conducted to study the effect of dried eggs in broiler diets to improve productive performance. [9], used dried eggs at the ratios of 0, 20, 40 and 60 g dried eggs/ Kg feed in broiler diets and it led to improving and developing productive performance. Moreover, [10], reported that by introducing dried eggs at a rate of 0,1,2 and 3% in diets led to an improvement in the growth performance of studied broiler.…”

“…The development of the digestive tract is an important factor that determines the growth performance and health of broiler chickens (Esmailzadeh et al, 2016) and affects the microbial population, which has important role in nutrient digestion and the immune system (Esmailzadeh et al, 2016;Ratriyanto and Mosenthin, 2018). Furthermore, the dietary protein level has an impact on the growth rate of the chickens (De Faria Filho et al, 2007;Moosavi et al, 2012).…”
